Privacy Policy

1) Who this applies to

This policy covers rethink-ai.ca and every page on it. It is written for visitors to the website. If you become a client, the handling of your business information is set out separately in your service agreement.

(re)think.ai is a sole proprietorship operated by Kiyan Sheikh in British Columbia, Canada. Because the business operates in B.C., the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies, along with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where activity crosses provincial or national borders.

Kiyan Sheikh is the privacy officer and is responsible for the information described here. Contact details are at the end of this page.

2) What we do not do

There are no accounts or logins on this site. You can read every page without identifying yourself.

We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or use this site to serve targeted advertising.

3) Information you give us

You share information only when you choose to. That happens if you submit the contact form, book a call, or email us directly. Depending on which you use, that may include your name, email address, the business or role you describe, and whatever you write in your message.

Please do not send client names, employee records, health information, financial account details, or other sensitive material through the form or by email. If we need that kind of information for an engagement, we will agree how to handle it first.

4) Information collected automatically

Some information is collected as a normal part of loading a web page:

• Website analytics. Google Analytics 4 records page views, how you arrived at the site, approximate location, and general browser and device information. It does not store your full IP address.
• Hosting records. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs. These can include your IP address, the page requested, and the time of the request.
• Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to fetch them, which means Google receives your IP address on each page load.

5) Why we collect it

Information you send is used to reply to you, arrange a call, and deliver the work you asked about. Nothing more.

Automatically collected information is used to understand which pages people read, whether the site works on their device, and where it can be improved. It is not used to build a profile about you or to target advertising.

We collect only what is needed for these purposes. If we ever want to use your information for something else, we will ask first.

6) Service providers, and where information goes

The site relies on a small number of outside providers. Each processes information under its own privacy terms:

• Tally — the embedded contact form
• Calendly — booking a call, and the scheduling widget loaded on the site
• Google Analytics and Google Fonts — usage measurement and typefaces
• Netlify — hosting and delivery of the site
• LinkedIn — where the Second Pass newsletter is published and where subscriptions are managed

These providers are based outside Canada, mainly in the United States, and information they handle may be stored or processed there. While it is outside Canada it can be accessed by foreign courts, law enforcement, and government authorities under the laws of that country. We keep the number of providers small and share only what each one needs to do its job.

7) Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie to tell one visit from another. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them.

If you use the return-on-investment calculator, the number of hours you enter is saved in your own browser so the contact form can refer to it. It stays on your device, is never sent to us on its own, and clearing your browser data removes it.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site trackers.

8) How long we keep it

Messages and booking details are kept for as long as needed to answer you and manage the conversation that follows, and for as long as business records must be kept afterwards. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted.

Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting on our Google Analytics account. Hosting logs are kept on Netlify's standard schedule.

9) How it is protected

Access is limited to Kiyan. Accounts holding this information are protected with strong passwords and multi-factor authentication, and providers are chosen partly on their security practices. No method of transmission over the internet is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.

If a privacy breach ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would notify you and the appropriate regulator.

10) Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address below and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a routine request.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to any legal or contractual requirement to keep certain records. You can also limit analytics by blocking cookies in your browser or installing Google's opt-out add-on.

11) If you are not satisfied

Raise it with us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where federal law applies.

12) Children

This site is intended for adults and for post-secondary students. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13) Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools or practices change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
